On Sunday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m., Cinema Art Bethesda will present the Bhutanese film, Lunana – A Yak in the Classroom. The film is 109 minutes long and in Dzongkha with English subtitles. It was released in 2020 and won 18 awards including the Audience Award for Best Film at the 2020 CinemAsia Film Festival and Prix du public award for Best Film at the 2020 Festival International de Film Saint-Jean-de-Luz. It was also a nominee for the Best International Feature Film at the 2022 Academy Awards.
The film will start at 10:00 am with bagels & cream cheese provided beginning at 9:30 and a post-film discussion, moderated by Adam Specter, immediately following the film. There will be no Zoom option for this discussion.
