It’s all part of the atmosphere at Cinema Art Bethesda, an all volunteer organization that brings the best in foreign and independent film to Bethesda and surrounding Montgomery County communities and now to the rest of the world through streaming.
We pre-screen a large number of films and select those likely to provide an entertaining experience and a thought provoking discussion to our membership.
During the pandemic we have been streaming our films but starting in April are moving back into the theater with a few changes for safety sake:
- Masks are required while inside the building
- We will screen our films in the theater’s larger auditorium so we can spread out
- We are the only occupants of the building during our stay there
Our screenings are held at the Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema, 7235 Woodmont Avenue, Bethesda. Bethesda Metro and ample parking are nearby.
Spend ten Sunday mornings with Cinema Art Bethesda from September through May. Enjoy the best of current foreign and independent films. Each film is followed by a provocative discussion with outstanding film experts. Theater doors open at 9:30 a.m., films start promptly at 10:00 a.m.. The main doors to Landmark Theatre will close at 10 a.m. at the request of theater management, so be punctual.
